Friday 6th Jan - Low Mass of the Epiphany (EF) at St. Gregory's Church, Cheltenham (GL50 3PR) - supported by Cheltenham Young Catholic Adults, followed by Mercedes' leaving do at 7:45pm at the Bottle of Sauce pub (over the road from St. Gregory's Cheltenham).

Tuesday 10th Jan - 8pm Rosary and wine- normally in the Old Priory adjacent to St. Gregory's Church (text 07908105787  to confirm details)

February 

Wednesday 1st Feb - Low Mass of St. Ignatius of Antioch (EF) at St. Gregory's Church, Cheltenham (GL50 3PR) - supported by Cheltenham Young Catholic Adults.

The blog http://supremacyandsurvival.blogspot.co.uk tells us more:- The Martyrs of Douai, 1577-1680 In the Archdiocese of Westminster in London, today is the feast of the  Martyrs of Douai College  which was transplanted from the Spanish Netherlands to London: The English College at Douai was established by William Allen, later Cardinal, on Michaelmas Day, 29th September, 1568. It offered an opportunity to form clergy for England in accordance with the system laid down by the Council of Trent.  Originally it was intended as a college home for exiles from England, a place where they could continue their studies in a way no longer possible for Catholics at the English Universities. In time Allen recognised its potential as a place for training clergy ready for the return to England when 'the new religion' had run its course. Vatican issues Marriage Pastoral Guidelines for SSPX

 From Vatican Radio : In a letter approved by Pope Francis, Cardinal Gerhard Müller says, “The Holy Father . . . has decided to authorize Local Ordinaries the possibility to grant faculties for the celebration of marriages of faithful who follow the pastoral activity of the Society.” The Pope's decision adopts a proposal by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, both of which are headed by Cardinal Müller. The new provisions are part of a number of ongoing meetings and initiatives aimed at bringing the Society into full communion; Cardinal Müller’s letter mentions specifically the recent decision of Pope Francis to grant all priests of the Society the faculty to validly administer the Sacrament of Penance to the faithful in order “to ensure the validity and liceity of the Sacrament and allay any concerns on the part of the faithful.” The grant of faculties for the celebration of marriage is subject to several provisio...
